FALASSA is an initiative to encourage use of sea vegetables for nutrition and therapy.
Content is posted to the Gazette – or Blog – on a regular basis.
Dried sea vegetables can be purchased by mail order or at a variety of Farmers’ Markets and Food Shows, which will be advised via the Gazette. Approval from the Food Standards Agency is pending for human ingestion, but algae for spa bath use or pet-food is available as from January 2013.
You are encouraged to join me on a sea vegetable adventure. For something really SPECIAL see here….
For a proper job holiday, rent Puffins in Falmouth, and come picking and bathing.
Join the FALASSA COLLECTIVE for £8 a month and receive monthly product from the shoreline – think of it as a coastal veggie box.
FALASSA needs your support to protect our coastal resource and argue the case for the sustainable use of marine algae for nutrition, therapy, agri-food and energy
FALASSA has her own chariot, an Irish currach which is staunch enough for coastal voyaging. FALASSA makes sure that the Captain carries bin liners to clear the sea and shore of litter. The currach is available for charter on any one of the marvellous estuarine rivers of the Fal – Helford catchment.
FALASSA supports the work of the Seaweed Health Foundation, Marine Conservation Society, the Cornwall Wildlife Trust, the Marine Education Trust, the Helford Voluntary Marine Conservation Area and FishFight
